Teaching aims : | Students know and understand specialized topics in knowledge processing and artificial intelligence (AI) and their practical applications in computer science, medical informatics, and media. This includes understanding and evaluating the potential use cases for such systems. Students have the ability to apply, design, and implement relevant methods and algorithms, as well as to estimate and assess their performance. Application areas covered may include, for example, autonomous mobile systems or knowledge-processing systems in medicine.
Contents : | Based on "Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence" covered in the 4th semester, this course focuses on specialized topics in artificial intelligence (AI). Examples of topics include: * Introduction, formal/theoretical/logical foundations for knowledge representation and inference * Logic programming * Expert and rule-based systems, e.g., in medicine / rule engines * Vocabularies, semantic networks * Description logics (knowledge representation through terminological logics and automated reasoning) * Generative AI, language models * Ontologies and Web Ontology Language * Autonomous mobile systems, service robotics * Action planning and control architectures * Navigation – self-localization and path planning
