Teaching aims : | Upon successful completion of this module, students ... * are familiar with the main objectives, concepts and terms of IT and media forensics * can explain the role of IT and media forensics in the context of incident response * understand the typical process of an IT forensic investigation and know suitable procedural models * know important methods for detecting, securing and evaluating digital traces and evidence * can apply these methods in practice to carry out simple forensic investigations using open source tools * are able to document their approach and findings in a comprehensible manner, defend them in a discussion and critically reflect them * are aware of the great responsibility of forensic experts * can assess and discuss the potentials, limitations and risks of IT and media forensics. | ||
