Aids and special features : | Teaching strategy Flexibly organised compact lectures (5 days in 2 weeks during the semester) including contact hours, self-study (working groups), web-based support as necessary, 2 hours weekly Mode of assessment Full participation at the first part Second part: successfully completed group work including presentation and documentation of the results without grading | ||
Teaching aims : | Students are able to utilize the facilities of the university, such as the library, laboratories, IT infrastructure, and examination system. They possess social skills and general learning competencies through group work on topics from Computer Science (BA Computer Science, BA Applied Computer Science) and Medical Informatics (BA Medical Informatics). Additionally, students can independently apply methods and techniques of project work, use presentation techniques, and are familiar with and understand the basic forms of cooperative problem-solving. At an early stage, they gain an overview of the diverse study programs offered by the department and have a strong foundation for successful studies. | ||
Contents : | Part 1: Library training, introduction to study and work organization, as well as group work, IT infrastructure, and tutorials on the teaching/learning platform used in the department (2 days at the beginning of the semester); selection of a group task for Part 2. Part 2: Self-organized (supervised) group work over 8-9 semester weeks, participation in the workshops "Presentation Techniques" and "Study Organization," preparation of presentations on the results of the working groups under guidance. | ||
